Dive Club overview

The Nairobi Sailing Club was formed in 1957 and amalgamated with the
Kenya Sub Aqua Club to form the Nairobi Sailing and Sub Aqua Club
(NSSAC) in 1985. The club is now mainly a sub-aqua club (commonly
called the Dive Club) as unfortunately sailing in Nairobi has ceased due
to the water hyacinth weed on Nairobi Dam.

The Dive Club has a large club house with a 20m pool, 2 bars, bathroom facilities including showers and 2 lecture rooms.

The Dive Club is affiliated to the British Sub-Aqua Club
(BSAC) and is registered as a BSAC Branch allowing us to train members
to their highest standards. The Dive Club also welcomes members from
various other dive organizations, i.e. PADI, SSI etc. and are able to
train them to higher levels. The BSAC website has some information on diving in Kenya.

In 2008, the Dive Club merged with the Mountain Club of Kenya
(MCK) and the joined clubs now share the NSSAC meeting facilities off
Langata Road, Nairobi up the road from Langata Shopping Centre (across
the highway from Carnivore Restaurant).
