Recommended for:

Children absolutely love Kembu Farm! For parents it's a super place to just let the children run around. There's so much space, and Zoe and Andrew Nightingale, who own and manage the farm are more than happy to let your children feed the cows, play in the hay bales and make friends with their numerous dogs who love to be petted at every opportunity.

For couples and people wanting a quiet place to stay, Kembu offers privacy and comfort as a quiet retreat from bustling city life.

Kembu Farm Accommodation:

Kembu Farm currently has 7 beautifully furnished cottages each having a private garden, comfortable, modern interiors and a well-equipped kitchen. A tree-house is nearby which is nicely done, and is a slightly cheaper option, as it shares showers and toilet facilities with the campsite. The Cottages are spacious with most being painted various tones of sunshine yellow. The cottages range from the cosy one bedroomed Tree house to the spacious Kenana Cottage which could sleep quite a number of people.

Kembu Farm Facilities:

Campers need to bring their own tent, and the bar is a great place to share a few drinks, play pool or table tennis and enjoy a freshly made pizza from the wood fired pizza oven.

Kembu Farm Location:

Kembu Farm is found just outside Nakuru and is a convenient stopover point for those planning trips to Bogoria or Baringo en-route to the Masai Mara. Because of the high altitude, there is no malaria here, and the range of day trips and local excursions is vast. Kembu Farm is a dairy farm, and activities offered to the residents include feeding the calves and horses. Taking a farm walk with panoramic views and for those who are interested, a visit the Kenana Knitting workshop and saleroom. This community outreach program, supports hundreds of local women in the area who create beautifully knitted toys etc. The ladies meet in a large centre, based at the farm. Here they have a health clinic, a creche, learning centre and facilities for the those with disabilities.

There are an amazing number of birds at the farm and taking a bird walk is also a nice way to pass the time.

Further afield, Nakuru Game Park is just a short drive away; here you can see flamingos on the Lake, many rhino. giraffe, lion, waterbuck etc. Naivasha is around an hour away and Kericho which is famous fro it's tea plantations about the same distance.

Baringo and Bogoria are around one and half hours drive and here you'll see crocodiles, hot springs and abundant birdlife!

Fishing, walking, rock climbing and game viewing are all possible to arrange through Kembu Farm. What most people come here for though, is just a place of relaxation; read a book or two and enjoy the tranquil setting and birdsong on the air. Perfect!
